The following non performance classes are offered at Student Theatre.

Rosemarie Maurice
Its aim is to create and develop clown characters in depth, through a multitude of exercises and activities. The clown characters created will do narrative sketches, musical numbers and/or dances suitable for use by Burlington Footnotes Senior Performing Troupe. Participants will perform in our Community Shows throughout the year and the Spring production – Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance June 2008. PLEASE NOTE this is a performance class - costume is required.

An introductory level class for dancers who wish to learn the basics of clogging. Designed for the absolute beginner.

It's more than fun, it's a real kick for everyone of all ages!!! This enjoyable, healthy dance form is great cardiovascular exercise.
Adult performance funky tap troupe taught by Master Tap Teacher Kim Chalovich. Participants will be performing in our June production - Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance June 2008. PLEASE NOTE this is a performance optional class - costume is required for performers.
Bring on the Funk Bring on the Jazz. Keep fit and have fun while developing your jazz dancing skills. Class to include warm up, combinations with the option to perform in our year end production Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance June 2008. This class will be offered Tuesday evenings at 8:30 pm. Open to all levels.
A perfect class for those "free spirits" who love to act up. Participants will prepare and perform "If I Were Not Upon the Stage" for our June production - Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance June 2008. Short skits may also be developed to be used for smaller community shows.
If you enjoy musical theatre, this is the class for you! Here is your opportunity to perform songs from the movies and Broadway. Numbers will be choreographed with the emphasis on using your voice, dance basics, acting skills and unique personality. Participants in the fall session will prepare for our local community productions. The Winter/Spring session will prepare for our Spring production - Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance June 2008. PLEASE NOTE this is a performance class - costume is required.
This class is offered to performers who wish to develop and strengthen their jazz technique and turns. This is a non-performance class NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS.
A non-performing tap class will consist of a warm-up, review of dance steps and teaching new steps with lots of styling. A routine will be taught at each session (without "positions", so if anyone wanted to perform in one of our smaller shows in the community, they could). A knowledge of basic tap steps is required.
A wonderful supplementary class for those students who wish to be introduced to and/or improve upon their intermediate/advanced level basics. Focusing on rhythm, style and clarity of sound to help develop a strong dancer/performer. Offered Wednesday at 12 noon. NEW -Students enrolled in this class will have the option to prepare for the PAEC exams.
This class covers the basic steps of tap technique. Students learn coordination, rhythmic variations and performance skills through a series of tap combinations. Suitable for beginners and those dancers who wish to refresh their tap skills. This class is offered Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm
